Welcome to our website!

Manchester Secondary PRU is an established Pupil Referral Unit serving the City of Manchester. We work in close partnership with the Local Authority and Manchester’s high schools to promote the Manchester Inclusion Strategy and to provide a high-quality, inclusive education for all our pupils.

We are committed to continual improvement and to providing a coherent, holistic educational experience for young people with complex needs. This is achieved through:

• A creative and high-quality curriculum
• A strong commitment to inclusion for some of Manchester’s most vulnerable young people
• A nurturing, safe and supportive environment across all of our settings

At Manchester Secondary PRU, we have the highest aspirations for our pupils. We deliver a broad curriculum, rooted in the National Curriculum, which enables pupils to achieve the same qualifications as their peers in mainstream education. This is complemented by a wide range of enrichment opportunities that develop the ‘Skills for Life’ our pupils need to become confident, successful adults.

Our experienced staff are highly skilled in supporting pupils to address their emotional and behavioural barriers to learning, enabling them to re-engage with education and successfully transition to their next stage.

Across our five core learning centres, our three centres in partnership with The Manchester College, and our alternative provision partners, staff work collaboratively to deliver a personalised education offer that gives every pupil the best possible chance to succeed.
